Give It A Shot – Trader Joe’s Petit Reserve Zinfandel Amador County 2021

You are probably already aware of this, but Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching! Last week we began our yearly endeavor of offering you some possible options for your holiday meal and this week we continue with that theme. When it comes to the topic of wines to pair with Thanksgiving dinner, you will often hear varietals such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Beaujolais Nouveau mentioned. While these are all great suggestions, when it comes down to it, what really matters is that you have something that you enjoy. A wine that has found a home at our Thanksgiving meal over the years is Zinfandel. There are many different expressions of Zinfandel and we tend to seek out those that offer a balance of both fruit and spice, which is what we hope to have in this week’s beverage. On this show we will be trying the Trader Joe’s Petit Reserve Zinfandel Amador County 2021. Located southwest of Sacramento and extending toward the Nevada border, Amador county has long been known for its Heritage Zinfandel wines from old vines that have been dry-farmed and cultivated for over 150 years. This wine is made for Trader Joe’s and comes in at 15.3% ABV.
