Japanese Green Tea IPA & New Hop Varieties

Just thought I would let everyone know about a couple of things that caught my eye recently on the beer front, both from Stone Brewing. First their next collaboration beer, a Japanese Green Tea IPA, was made with the help of Bryan Baird of Baird Brewing & Toshi Ishii of Ishii Brewing. The beer will be dry hopped with Japanese Sencha. This is a loose, whole-leaf tea that we happen to carry at Arbuckle Coffee and I have had many times. It will be quite interesting to see how the flavor profile comes through. Proceeds from the beer will benefit tsunami relief. Second is a post they put up about some new hops that arrived at the brewery. They talk a little bit about the flavor profiles of each one and describe how they go about testing their usefulness in future beers. Head on over to the website to find the links to these two stories.
