Give It A Shot – Blackened Whiskey Rye the Lightning Finished in Madeira & Rum Casks

It’s because the beverage we have for you on this episode combines whiskey with one of Andrew’s favorite bands of all time. For this week's show we will be trying the Blackened Whiskey Rye the Lightning Finished in Madeira and Rum Casks.

For those of you who have gotten to know us throughout the years, it is no surprise for you to read that we are on the positive side of whiskey celebration. In other words, we are big fans of the spirit and appreciate its many forms, expressions, and the multitude of ways that it can be enjoyed. We are also big music fans and often our Thursday Night Livestreams on Twitch include discussions on the subject, usually accompanied by some amount of singing. We appreciate your patience and indulgence at these times and encourage you to join our spontaneous musical tangents. Why do we mention these two things? It’s because the beverage we have for you on this episode combines whiskey with one of Andrew’s favorite bands of all time. For this week’s show we will be trying the Blackened Whiskey Rye the Lightning Finished in Madeira and Rum Casks. Blackened is a whiskey making  collaborative effort between the band Metallica and Master Distiller and Blender Rob Dietrich. We have tried two of the whiskies from this collection on podcasts over the past few years (and a few not on podcasts as well) and this is the most recent limited release. It is a Kentucky straight rye double cask whiskey sonically enhanced using Blackened’s proprietary Black Noise process playing a 2012 live performance of the bands second album, Ride the Lightning. What did we think? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below or join us live on Thursday nights to give us your feedback while we are live streaming on Twitch.
