Just a little reminder of what will be going on at AboutBeverages.com for the week of February 24th – March 2nd 2013. This is going to be a very exciting week for all of us. Due to scheduling conflicts, Keith and I won’t be recording any shows until Monday. Which means as of this writing I don’t know what you’ll see on Thursday. The smart money would be on something beer related coming to the tasting table, but who knows. There also is a new gin that I have been wanting to talk about on the show, but time hasn’t permitted. I think I will correct that right now and tell you about it. Greenhook Ginsmiths produces an American Dry Gin that is quite extraordinary. As we talked recently about the Old Tom gin being a “missing link” between London Dry and Dutch Holland, this gin reminded of an even smaller step between the London Dry and the Old Tom. It has a very light yet complex creamy sweetness balanced with notes of fresh cucumber and juniper. Very delicious to say the least. I recommend anyone who is a gin lover as we are to “Give It A Shot” and let us know what you think. Their website (greenhook.com) has some interesting information about their process and the special copper still they use which is worth taking a look at as well. Also the poll is still up if you would like to take the time to vote for what will be the topic our next full length show.
