Give It A Shot – Sprite Cranberry Lebron James Edition

We occasionally are asked if we try beverages that do not have alcohol on our show. Our answer of course is “Yes!” The very first podcast we did back in 2009 featured us brewing French Press coffee. We figured that was appropriate since we had worked together at Arbuckle Coffee for so long and coffee was what we knew best. Over the years we have tried water, sodas, smoothies, more coffee, and many other non-alcohol beverages as well. A few weeks ago we were offered the opportunity to try a “vintage” soda and that is what we have for this week’s episode. For this show we will be trying the Sprite Cranberry Lebron James edition. Back in 2018, Keith’s son bought a 12-pack of this soda and over the course of the last few years they have become collectors items. Cranberry Sprite is a holiday release that has been around since 2013, and in 2018 an animated commercial featuring Lebron James was released. It became a viral sensation, spawning several memes which caused it to become very popular. The following year the Cranberry Sprite was rebranded as Winter Spiced Cranberry so this particular type of Sprite is no longer available. We thought it would be fun to talk about and we were also intrigued to find out how much flavor a five year old soda would still have so we took him up on his offer. What did we think?
