Give It A Shot – Two Gins: Fifty Pounds London Dry and The Botanist from Scotland
What better way to continue our travels through this holiday season then with a pair of gins. Today at the tasting table we have Fifty Pounds London Dry Gin and The Botanist. The name Fifty Pounds is derived from the Gin Act of 1736 in which King George the II imposed a levy on anyone wishing to produce and sell gin. The Botanist brings with it the rarity of being the only gin from Scotland. It uses a total of 31 botanicals as part of its blend with 22 of them being native to Scotland. Also along for the ride today is returning guest Eric who has been on several previous shows and who was kind enough to share these gins with us.
