Happy December! How can it be that this is the last month of 2022? We hope that you all had a happy and safe Thanksgiving and that you have already begun your enjoyment of this festive time of year. For this week’s episode we will return to a common theme from last month as we will be trying a wine. This wine was not originally scheduled to be a part of last week’s show but the rareness and sudden availability made us rethink our beverage menu. The wine we will be trying this week is the Diamond Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Napa Valley 2020 from Trader Joe’s. Featured in their current Fearless Flyer, this is only the third wine they have deemed worthy of their highest private label status. Throughout the years they have had numerous wine varietals and blends with the word “Reserve” in the title (Petit, Grand, Platinum,) and some that are just Reserve. These have ranged in price from $6.99 (Petit Reserve) up to $14.99 (Platinum Reserve). Up until two years ago these were the only categories. Then along came the Diamond Reserve which is the highest priced at $19.99 per bottle. The first two Diamond versions had very limited availability which is not the case this time as the store Keith works at received 40 cases. Chances are it will go quickly however, so if this is something you are interested in get out to a location near you as soon as you can. What did we think? What do you think?
