Give It A Shot – Trader Joe’s 2005 Vintage Ale

We go deep into the beer cellar as it were today and uncork a bottle of the Trader Joe's 2005 Vintage Ale. To be clear, the 2005 is not a typo. Keith has been storing this bottle (properly) for almost 8 years. Surprisingly this bottle does have information about aging it for later enjoyment, but that date ran out in October of 2008. The Vintage Ale changes slightly every year, but the foundation that's used is a Belgian Strong Dark Ale. Let's hope the originally dark character of this beer helps to maintain an extended shelf life. We would love to hear if anyone else still has one of these beers around and has yet to open it up or if you actually didn't age it past its date and have some thoughts on the flavor profile. If you have any ideas for future episodes of "Give It A Shot" or just have a question, you can always send us an email to AboutBeverages@q.com.
