Give It A Shot – Stone Brewing Saison du Buff Aged in Red and White Wine Barrels

What is better than one great brewery creating a new beer for its loyal fans? Obviously, it’s when two great breweries get together and create a new beer for their loyal fans. We know this sounds crazy, but what if a third great brewery decided they wanted in on this action? Can it be even exponentially better? Potentially, chaos could ensue as this triumvirate toiled over their concoction, but we would all still keep our fingers crossed and hope that somehow, some way, this could all work out for the betterment of humanity, and of course, the craft beer crazed populace of which we are proud to be a part. These are some of the questions we asked ourselves and points that we pondered as we tried the Saison du Buff, a collaboration beer from Stone, Dogfish Head, and Victory. The version that we tried features its usual blend of herbs, but was also aged in both red and white wine barrels and has been augmented by the addition of brettanomyces. What do you think?
