Give It A Shot – Empress 1908 Gin

Depending on how much time you have spent with us over the years, there is a good chance that you know one of our favorite spirits is gin. It is by far our favorite clear spirit, although a good blanco tequila is definitely in the discussion. We have even created a shirt available at our website which highlights our affinity for the juniper-based spirit. During a recent streaming session Andrew discovered that one of the people in chat was also a big fan of gin. They started talking about one in particular that we have thought about trying for a while now, and that is the beverage we will be sharing with you on this show. For this episode we will be trying the Empress 1908 Gin. It is made by Victoria Distillers and is inspired by the legendary Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria, British Columbia. We know that we mentioned that gin is a clear spirit and most often it is. There are exceptions however, and this is one of them. It features an indigo hue which comes from the addition of butterfly pea blossoms as well as the addition of a signature blend of tea served at the Empress Hotel.
