Spring is in the air and with it comes a fair amount of baseball conversation to start the show, but eventually we get to the beer at hand. At the tasting table today we have the Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter IPA. It’s a newly created year round release that uses a method of steam distilling wet hops before they even leave the fields. This custom process is used to gather hop oil in its purest form giving you the “fresh hop” taste most brewers can only do during picking season. This oil combined with their whole cone hops should bring plenty of flavor to the party. Time to taste and see if the “hunt” was a success or if this process is simply all wet.
