Today at the tasting table we have both a soda that’s new and old at the same time. It was almost four years ago that one of our loyal listeners (Erica) gave us a Ramune Bubble Gum flavored soda. Ramune is originally from Japan and contains a marble lodged inside the top of the bottle held there by the carbonation. When opening, the marble gets pushed down into the bottle and rattles around while drinking. It comes in a surprisingly large assortment of flavors. During the show we mention some of our favorites, but Blue Hawaii was near the top. I mean, what can that possibly taste like? Blueberry? Fish? Elvis? Anyway, that’s the old part. The new is that we once again have a Ramune soda to try, but this one is just plain old grape flavor. At least that’s what we thought….
