Give It A Shot – Pumpkin Beers 2013 Part 2 – Red Hook Out of Your Gourd Pumpkin Porter, Epic Brewing Fermentation Without Representation Imperial Pumpkin Porter & Shipyard Brewing Puglsey’s Signature Series Smashed Pumpkin

It all comes down to this.  Two more new pumpkin beers this week are brought to the tasting table as we choose the best of 2013.  Last week both beers were of differing styles, but today they are both porters.  First will be the Out of Your Gourd Pumpkin Porter from Red Hook.  Second will be the Fermentation Without Representation Imperial Pumpkin Porter from Epic Brewing.  After these two have been fully put to the test we bring the returning champion back into the fold and see how the Shipyard Brewing Pugsley’s Signature Series Smashed Pumpkin compares to all four competitors.  As always we know everyone of these beers is slightly different in style and this isn’t exactly a level playing field.  However, this is more about which of these beers makes the best use of not only pumpkin, but the incorporation of spices.  If you have any ideas for future episodes of “Give It A Shot” or just have a question, you can always send us an email to AboutBeverages@q.com.
