Give It A Shot – $15 vs $35? Oak Ridge Winery OZV & Saldo Zinfandels
For several months we have teased not only our listeners, but also ourselves, with talk of doing a Zinfandel wine podcast. Our thought was to try a few at different price points and compare them side by side. For one reason or another it was never quite the right time, until now. When October goes, our thoughts and podcasts begin to take on a decidedly seasonal theme as we explore options that might find a place at your holiday table or may also make a nice gift. For Thanksgiving in particular we often find ourselves focused on wine. Since Zinfandel is a great wine to pair with many of the dishes traditionally found at the Thanksgiving table we thought this was the perfect occasion to finally make it happen. For this episode we will be trying the 2020 Oak Ridge Winery OZV Old Vine Zinfandel and the 2020 Prisoner Winery Saldo Zinfandel. Both of them also contain other varietals besides Zinfandel with the OZV priced at $10 and the Saldo at $27. If you were watching our live show on Twitch.tv or caught the archived version on YouTube then you know that we also tried one other Zinfandel, the Old Moon Old Vine from Trader Joe’s that was priced at $6. What did we think? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below or join us live on Thursday nights to give us your feedback while we are live streaming on Twitch.
