Give It A Shot – Modern Times Beer Fortunate Islands Wheat Ale

The California Beer Train (choo choo) is full steam ahead and pulling up to our first destination in San Diego. The taps began flowing in June of 2013 for Modern Times Beer and since then they have slowly been building not only a stable of year round releases, but some special limited options as well. When not found at your local restaurant in Southern California, their beer is available in 4-packs of pint cans. That vessel is what brought the Fortunate Islands Pale Wheat Ale to our tasting table today. Brewed using a blend of Citra and Amarillo hops, this sessionable almost wheat IPA is going for big flavor and easy drinking. The only problem with that is for us living in Southern Arizona if we like it, we can't get anymore until our next trip! Actually a second problem I've realized is that every time I start to type fortunate, I type the word son after it instead of islands. I may have to link that video at the bottom just to get it out of my head. If you have any ideas for future episodes of "Give It A Shot" or just have a question, you can always send us an email to AboutBeverages@q.com.
