Give It A Shot – Highland Park Twisted Tattoo 16 Year Single Malt Scotch
Back in 2011, thanks to a very generous and knowledgeable friend of the show, Fitz, we began our foray into scotch. We had tried bourbon and other whiskeys both on podcasts and on our own, but scotch was still relatively unfamiliar territory. Back then we tried ten in all, split into two episodes (audio only) and those are available for you to listen to at our website. Fast forward 9 years and oh, how far we have come! We have tried numerous names and styles over the years and scotch has been the beverage of choice for our first two end of the year listener appreciation episodes. While one of us is more of a scotch fan than the other (spoiler alert, it’s Andrew) we always look forward to trying new styles and of course, revisiting old favorites. This episode features a little of both of those as we have a new twist on an old favorite. We will be trying the Highland Park Twisted Tattoo 16 Year Single Malt scotch. The Highland Park 12 year was a part of that original podcast and has long been one of Andrew’s favorites. This scotch is matured in ex-bourbon casks and first-fill Rioja wine casks to give it extra depth and complexity. What did we think? What do you think?
