Give It A Shot – Deschutes Brewery Only Slightly Exaggerated IPA

It isn’t often that I have the opportunity to write these posts while traveling, but as I begin to let the words flow that will ultimately create this particular post, I realize that this is now the second entry created outside of my home state. The last one (for Gentle Reminder IPA) was written while on vacation in Playa del Carmen. This one is being crafted as I wait for my flight in the Burbank Airport. This trip was a quick one, and on the surface, it was a business trip for Trader Joe’s. If you dig a little deeper, which we at About Beverages usually do, you would realize that there was also fun involved as well. New people to meet, new beverages to be tried, and new experiences to learn from. Speaking of Trader Joe’s, this episode’s featured beverage was purchased there. Although it is not exclusively available there, as happens frequently, it was one of the new items available when I arrived for work last week. The beverage we will be trying this week is a new seasonal offering from Deschutes Brewery, the Only Slightly Exaggerated IPA. This beer was brewed in conjunction with Travel Oregon’s “Only Slightly Exaggerated” tourism advertising campaign using the Sabro hop, which is grown in the Northwest. FYI, when we recorded our podcast, we didn’t notice the word “only” in the title. What did we think?
