Give It A Shot – Cooper & Thief Bourbon Barrel Aged Red Blend

We have often spoken of our unabashed affinity for most things barrel-aged. We say “most things” because while barrel-aging certainly can add wonderful depth and complexity to a beverage, if it is not done well, things can go awry in a most disturbing way. This podcast features a beverage aged in whiskey barrels and while it is not uncommon to see this type of product available on your favorite retailers shelves, it is still somewhat uncommon. Today we will be trying the Cooper and Thief Red Blend. It is a blend of red wine varietals aged for 3 months in bourbon whiskey barrels. What did we think?
