Give It A Shot – Baltika Brewery No. 8 Wheat Beer

When we say wheat beer the first thing that comes to mind is St. Petersburg, Russia... right? The birthplace of full bodied wheat beer, am I right? Ok maybe that's not true at all. How about this. When you want to try something different in the beer world what's better than reaching for a beer with simply a number for a name? If all this seems completely crazy, but you are still intrigued by the premise, then join us as we bring Baltika Brewery's No. 8 Wheat Beer to the tasting table. Not only are they the largest brewery in Eastern Europe, they also produce a line of nine different beers. Just so you're familiar with the others we will list them all for you right now: 0,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9. We're not joking. In all honesty we have had the No. 9 at a beer tasting several years back and it wasn't bad at all. I (Andrew) have even bought it on two other occasions. So this isn't a total shot in the dark, but that still doesn't mean it will be any good. Time to find out if this wheat beer is worth it's weight in rubles. If you have any ideas for future episodes of "Give It A Shot" or just have a question, you can always send us an email to AboutBeverages@q.com.
