This is the beginning of a three week stop in San Francisco for the California Beer Train. Almanac Beer Company is the reason for this prolonged stop as we will be featuring three beers. First up this week is their Sourdough Wild Ale. It brings together everything you look for in this style and then some: Brettanomyces, Belgian and American yeasts with an addition of a local sourdough yeast from Marla Bakery. To top it all off they throw some rye and lemon into the grain bill, dry hop with Mosaic and age it in wine barrels. Time to taste and find out if this 6.5% ABV Wild Ale brings all of this complexity to our palates.
