Give It A Shot – Dogfish Head Craft Brewery 120 Minute Imperial IPA aged in Utopias Barrels

Rather than just ease back into things we decided to just jump right into the deep end as we had an evening where we featured two triple IPAs.

In the words of Simon and Garfunkel, “Gee, but it’s great to be back home!” Those words (from “Trying to Keep the Customer Satisfied”) have a double meaning for us this week. For Keith it is because while he had a great time in Europe he is happy to be home. For both of it is because we are happy to be back with our live shows on Thursday nights after a four week absence. Rather than just ease back into things we decided to just jump right into the deep end as we had an evening where we featured two triple IPAs. One of those beers is what we will be featuring on this show. For this episode we will be trying the Dogfish Head Craft Brewery 120 Minute Imperial IPA aged in Utopias Barrels. We have had Dogfish Heads’s 120 Minute IPA numerous times over the years, but since it had been a while and this one had the twist of being aged in different barrels, we were more than happy to try it again for the first time. In the past the brewery had been quite secretive about the ABV, usually saying it could be anywhere between 12% and 20%. This label on this bottle actually states the ABV at 17%, but rumor has it could be even higher.  What did we think? What do you think?
