Give It A Shot – Trout Slayer Ale Can & Bottle Comparison

It is time once again for our "Give It A Shot" podcast where we share with you, our valued listener, something we discovered that needs to be shared immediately. If you have any ideas for future episodes of "Give It A Shot" please don't hesitate to contact us. You can always send us an email to AboutBeverages@q.com or post a comment in The Taproom. So in this episode we will be diving head first into the age old debate... can or bottle? To do this we chose Trout Slayer Ale from Big Sky Brewing Co. because it was available in both types of containers. Also since we had family over at the time of the tasting we were able to have both of the beers poured for us so we could do a blind tasting. Enjoy!

  • That was so interesting. I'm shocked at the end result - your educated opinions in complete agreement; but off. I think that should suggest you consider what preconceived ideas may have influenced you conclusions. I will definitely enjoy more of these "blind" offerings. A great idea. I give that a "Wow". Very surprising, but I don't believe it discredits your expertise in any way.

  • Great podcast. I'm surprised too! I think I heard Kieth briefly wonder something briefly about the production date, and that was the first thing that came to my mind. Does either (er, ideally both...) package have a code-date?

Or maybe they just spent way more on their bottling line than their canning machine. I'll stay tuned to see what the Big Sky folks have to say.
