The Saison style of beer is now being brewed year round, but originally was made during the fall and winter for comsumption during the late summer harvest. Brewery Ommegang Hennepin Farmhouse Saison is a year round offering. We had decided that this was going to be featured on our Thanksgiving week show, but didn’t realize until actually tasting it just how much it would fit with the fare that goes along with the holiday. We know this style can be somewhat divisive due to the flavors it can evoke (hay, barnyard, etc.), but I think the balance found within thanks to some light fruit character makes it a harmonious marriage.
