AboutBeverages.com Podcast: Episode 25 – Sour Beers Part 1

Welcome to Episode 25 of the AboutBeverages.com podcast! As we hit the quarter century mark (as far as podcasts go) we are going to turn our attention to one of our newest favorite beer styles, Sour beers. In part one of this two part episode, in addition to trying three sour beers, we will also be talking about what constitutes a sour beer. This is not a style for the faint of heart, but one that should be experienced nonetheless. The amount of time and care that goes into creating a sour ale is astounding and is no doubt why they are usually on the more expensive side. Helping us with all this discussion will be a returning guest to the show, Eric, who you will remember from our most recent gin podcast. With his help and love of this style we were able to gather together a total of six sour ales. Since we felt that this would be a lot for one podcast, we decided to split it into two parts. In this episode we will have the following three sour beers: Two from Russian River Brewing (Sanctification & Consecration) and the New Belgium Lips of Faith 2012 La Folie. Let us know what you think of this style and what your favorites are by emailing us at AboutBeverages@q.com.
