Welcome to episode 22 of the AboutBeverages.com Podcast! In this episode we will be exploring the country of Portugal via our palates and trying two red table wines and two ports. This is an idea that had been in the works for quite some time and we’re glad it has finally come together. The two red wines we will be trying are a 2008 Villa Regila and a 2008 Vinzelo both from the Douro region in Portugal. Another fun fact is the Douro region is centered around the Douro River and yes, I just won the award for the most use of the word Douro in two consecutive sentences. For the port portion of the podcast, we will be trying a Quarles Harris 2005 Porto Late Bottled Vintage and a Dow’s 10 Year Aged Tawny Porto bottled in 2008.

Here are the links to the things we talked about during the podcast. We were only able to find websites for the two ports we tried. If you are interested, the Vinzelo was purchased at Trader Joe’s and the Vila Regia was purchased at Total Wine.
